A. If you have an authorization to participate in the integration course from the Federal Office (BAMF) or Jobcenter and
- are attending or have attended an integration course at Integra and have not attended any other school: →Your identity document

- you have attended an integration course at another school or have taken a placement test: →Your identity document and your authorization to participate (original)
B. If you are not entitled to participate in the integration course and have paid for the integration course privately: →Your identity document and a confirmation from the other school that you were registered for at least one module in an integration course.
The integration course is an offer for foreign citizens. These are people who come to Germany from other countries.
The integration course helps foreign citizens to get along better in Germany.
This is important for people who want to live in Germany: They should learn the German language!
If you speak and understand German, it is often easier for you:
- You can find work in Germany.
- You can get to know people.
- You can fill out applications at the office yourself.
That is also important:

You will receive instruction in the integration course. The integration course has different parts. They are called modules. You will learn new content in each module. If you have any questions about the integration course: Contact an Integra employee.
There are various rules for this. The rules are set out in the Residence Act:
Foreigners with a residence permit before 2005:
You must complete and submit an application. It is called: Application for eligibility. Our employees will be happy to help you with this.
Foreigners with residence permits after 2005:
You should have already received a letter. The letter is called:
Eligibility to participate. It will be sent to you by the Immigration Office. You can register with the authorization to participate.
Where and when to register: Please register with a course provider within 3 months.
Do you have German citizenship?
If you are an EU citizen or late repatriate: You must complete and submit an application. It is called: Application for eligibility to participate. Our staff will be happy to help you with this.
Are you in the asylum procedure and do you have good prospects of staying?
(They come from Eritrea, Syria, Iran, Iraq and Somalia, for example)
Do you have a permit?
You have completed and submitted an application. It is called: Application for authorization to participate.

1 lesson (45 minutes) costs: 2 euros and 20 cents. You have to pay this money. If you meet certain requirements, you pay less. For private payers (without eligibility) the lesson costs 4 euros 40 cents per 1 lesson (45 min.).
Late repatriates may once free of charge take part in the integration course. You do not have to pay the fee if you…
- Recipients of SGB-II are
- have the Munich passport
- Get housing money
- receive a child surcharge
- Get BAföG
- Receive benefits under the Asylum Applicants Act
- have an exemption from daycare fees.
- have an exemption from GEZ fees
You must submit an application for this. This application is called: Application for exemption from costs.
Important:
Make this application before the integration course starts. Only then will the costs be covered.
Your success will be rewarded!
You must pass the integration course in 2 years. You must take 2 examinations. Once you have successfully passed the exams, you can submit an application to the Federal Office. You will then receive half (50%) of the costs back.
There are various integration courses. Immigrants usually take a general integration course.
There are also integration courses for:
Immigrants who can read or write very little. These courses are called literacy courses.
If you pass the final test, you will receive an award. It is called: Integration course certificate. It will help you to find work, for example. It will help you if you want a settlement permit.
Trained teachers teach the integration course. The teachers are trained by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.
German Institute Integra. We offer over 50 integration courses at different levels. This means that you can usually start very quickly. There are also other course providers.
For each day you are absent, please bring us a written apology.
- If you are still unable to come after three days: We need a doctor’s certificate from you. You can get this from your doctor if you are ill.
- If you are only unable to come for 1 to 2 working days: You do not have to call us. If you are healthy and come back, give your course instructor a written excuse.
- If you cannot come for more than 2 days: Give us a call or send us an e-mail. We need to know: How long will you be absent and when will you be back?
Please take a vacation during the vacation periods. You can find the current vacation times in our download center. If this is not possible: Please contact us at the earliest. It would not be good if you were to miss several days. It can have consequences: You may then no longer be able to take part in your course. Perhaps we will then have to switch to another course.
If you are taking the last part of the course: You must register 5 weeks before the exam. You will receive a registration form from your course instructor. If you are doing other parts of the course or no part at all with us: Please make an appointment at the Integra office. You can register for the final test. You must register at least 5 weeks before the exam.
At level B1 you can familiarize yourself with the German language in a simple way.

Then you are not allowed to take part in the course. You are not allowed to take part in the lessons. You must pay the costs of 2 euros and 20 cents on a specific date.
If you receive social benefits, you pay nothing for the integration course.
You have the option of submitting an application. Your travel expenses will then be paid. The application is called: Application for reimbursement of travel expenses. You can obtain the application from us.
Important:
Travel costs are not paid if the distance between your place of residence and the course location is less than 3 kilometers. Beyond that, travel costs are only paid to the next location where the course takes place.
The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has approved your application for reimbursement of travel expenses. You must be there for more than 70% of the time. You will then receive the money for the travel costs transferred to your account. When you will receive the money: 4 months after the start of the course.
It is very important. You take part in the practice tests in class. There is a practice CD. You can use the CD to practise on your computer at home.
Important:
Speak a lot of German. Whether at home or with friends. This helps you to memorize new words or sentences in German.
Have you always taken part in the course but did not reach language level B1 in the final test?
Then YOU can apply for 300 lessons from the language course. If you are not exempt from the cost contribution: 1 lesson costs 2 euros and 20 cents again.
Important:
Always come to the integration course. Then you can repeat the integration course. If you have to do the whole course again: You will have to pay for it yourself. We will be happy to advise you in a personal meeting.

Yes, that is possible. But only after the end of the module. A course section has 100 teaching units.
Please speak to the office! It is possible to switch to a part-time course. For example, in the evening or at the weekend. You can interrupt the course at the end of each course section. If you are obliged to attend the course (e.g. by the Jobcenter) you should inform the office.

- You pay 15 euros once for materials.
- If you have a cost exemption: 0 euros.
- A valid German bank account
Register at the reception desk. Take the placement test with you.
Please call us in advance to register for the placement test. After the test: A member of staff will talk to you about your knowledge. For example: What do you still need to learn, what can you already write and speak in German? The employee will work with you to find the right course. You will be registered for the course that suits you. After the interview, you pay for the 100 teaching units (€220) and the money for the materials (€15).
Bring the money with you. You will then receive confirmation of your registration. You are then registered for the course.
Important:
Take your time for your appointment with us. You may have to wait. All fees incurred after registration will be deducted from your account.
This option is still available: you can pay in advance when you register for the course. If you withdraw from the course early: You will get your money back for the modules you didn’t attend.
Talk to your course instructor about this. In a conversation with you and the course instructor, discuss: What happens next?
You must cancel in writing. You can find a termination form in our download center. You must send us the written notice of termination or hand it in at the Integra office. You must do this at least 10 days before the course starts. If you hand in the notice of termination at the Integra office: Have it confirmed by the staff there. By post: Send us your notice of termination by registered post. This is slightly more expensive than a letter, but serves as proof.
Then we will be happy to advise you in a personal meeting.
